koi·no·ni·a koinəˈnēə/noun THEOLOGY
Christian fellowship or communion, with God or, more commonly, with fellow Christians
The early Church was committed to fellowship. We see this in Acts 2:42-47. Verse 44 states, “And all who believed were together and had all things in common.” In a culture becoming increasingly detached from personal interaction, there is much to be gained from simply being together. Sharing a meal, bearing one another’s burdens, and devotion to the Gospel were of vital importance when the Church was taking shape. The same is true for the Church today.
The K-Group is intended to be an extension of the ministry of Lane Prairie Baptist Church. Smaller groups will meet periodically in the comfort of a church member’s home to break bread, worship, hear from God’s Word, and serve one another. Perhaps you have neighbors who are a bit skeptical of what a church actually does. Invite them over to see what occurs each Sunday morning and evening on a smaller scale.
At Lane Prairie, we want to commit ourselves to being involved in each other’s lives. To further reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus, we first have to be in community with one another.
