Outreach and Evangelism
As a member of the Johnson County, Texas community, Lane Prairie Baptist Church tries to assist those in need in our community. The following are some of the outreach programs:
- Hope Chest – a clothing and food pantry. We accept donations and graciously give to those in need in our community free of charge!
- Home Bound Ministries – an outreach to the seniors and others in our communities who are “home bound” and unable to get out and about.
- Prison Outreach – a group of our men who visit prisons and minister to the needs of the prisoners
- Thanksgiving Baskets – providing food baskets to families in need at the holidays — our holiday food baskets are generally given out a week or two prior to Thanksgiving. Please contact the church office if you would like to donate food items or if you know of someone in need of a food basket for the holidays.
Evangelism
We believe that we should share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all. There is salvation only through the Gospel, He is the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ. So we go and tell, and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!
At very 2nd Sunday of the Month, at 6:00 pm, we do evangelism. We are intentional in sharing the Gospel of Jesus to those around us in our local community.
If you want to be part of it, all you need to do is show up and we will make sure to give you all the information you need to go and tell others about Jesus.
Imagine if every believer could answer that question with the name of a person who is far from God — a person for whom they’re praying and with whom seeking to share the gospel. That’s the intention behind Who’s Your One. We believe God’s people don’t merely need another method for evangelism — what they need is a white-hot passion to see people who are far from God experience the new life He offers through Jesus Christ.
Over the coming days, our church and countless others will prioritize personal ownership of the Great Commission as we each intentionally pursue one person with the hope of the gospel. At times, it seems the mission is simply too complex and too vast for churches like ours and people like us. While we can’t do everything, we can do something. We can all take responsibility for one. And, because of God’s power and the work of His Spirit, each of our ones can add up to make a significant impact for God’s kingdom.
Operation BackPack
Every year in the fall our church distributes backpacks & school supplies to local families in need of assistance. It is a great way of helping our community with supplies, praying for them, and sharing the Good News of Jesus.
