Lane Prairie Baptist Church has been part of Johnson County Texas since 1871.

Lane Prairie Baptist Church was originally located West of Highway 174 near where Old Lane Prairie Cemetery still sits (adjacent to the railroad tracks). In 1905 when the railroad came through, Lane Prairie Baptist Church decided to relocate away from the railroad tracks to the location where it sits today.
